I admit, even though I am an intuitive counselor with private clients around the world, I rarely go to another intuitive. However, I had won a free session from Mathew at the Dragon Den (a Chinese Herb shop) in Maui where I live. In August I finally took him up on it. There were two things that he shared with me that were absolutely priceless. I’ll share one of them now.
I was in the midst of working on 5 different projects. A couple of them are very big and global in scope. I asked him if I was spreading my energies too thin and if I would be able to truly handle all that I was envisioning. He affirmed that I was truly capable of handling it all. That’s when my Real self doubts came to the surface.
As enthusiastic and driven as I felt, those nagging memories of past projects that had failed or not come to fruition were nagging at me and draining my confidence. Mathew kindly smiled and gave me a special piece of “homework” to do.
He had me list all of my successes and failures I could think of. Next, he had me go back over the list and honestly assess how much of myself I had put into each of the projects, and write that percentage down. He had predicted that anything that I had put 80% or more of myself into…had been a success.
With a bit of trepidition, I did the assignment. What I discovered changed my life! In EVERY case that I had committed at least 65% of my energy and abilities…it was an absolute Success!!!
To be honest with you, with most of the failures I had only given perhaps 15-25% of myself. I had spent more time and energy Worrying about them, than Acting on them. And I had continued to carry those examples of failures in the back of my mind, like malicious spyware running unnoticed on my computer, causing my mind to run sluggishly or in dysfunctional ways.
